As Head, the successful candidate willcoordinate, fulfill, and oversee the immediate and necessary functions of the Department at all levels of the university,as outlined in the current Collective Agreement, and advocate for future needs related to the program. Through areduced course-load, the successful candidate will empower the Department by contributing to the dynamic teachingand culture via their own expertise and research program. The headship term is normally three years. Subsequent totheir term(s) as head, the successful candidate will be a regular department member.The area of research and teaching expertise is open. The Sociology Department is distinguished by its three areas offocus: knowledge and power, social justice, and the sociology of everyday life.
