For additional information on theNutrition and Dietetics program, please visit: http://nutrition.acadiau.ca/.The Instructor’s role will be to support the Dietetics program option and dietetic practicum program.This includes teaching two practice-related courses, supporting the coordination of student practicumplacements, supporting dietetic preceptors, supporting student attainment of entry level practicecompetencies, guiding practice-based research, and working closely with our faculty and preceptors tomeet and monitor accreditation requirements.Selection will be based on the candidate’s academic and professional qualifications, teachingexperience and involvement supporting a dietetics training program. A Master’s degree in Nutrition (ora related field) and ability to register as a Professional Dietitian (PDt) in Nova Scotia are required.Candidates with university-level teaching experience, at least five years of experience working indietetic practice, and those with experience supervising students during their practical training will beprioritized.We are seeking candidates familiar with the Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education andPractice (ICDEP), the regulatory framework for the dietetic profession in Canada, and health systems inCanada. Demonstrated ability to teach skills related to subjects core to the ICDEPs, and in particular,skills and experiences related to professionalism and ethics, leadership, food and food systemsmanagement, and practice based research are considered strong assets. A demonstrated ability toparticipate in collaborative decision making, partnership development and maintenance are needed inthis role.
