They are committed to safety and sustainability.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThis is a full-time permanent opportunity as an Operations Manager at their facility in Vancouver Island. Our client is looking for someone who is a strong knowledge in wood products and manufacturing and a self-motivated leader.ABOUT THE POSITION

• Ensure a safe work environment culture that aligns with the Company’s vision and values and compliance including but not limited to WorkSafe BC and the Ministry of Environment
• Accountable for the finances of the operation
• Prepare the capital budgets
• Recruit key workers and assist in the training of supervision and operations
• Participate in inter-divisional management meetings, site management and union meetings
• Maintain communication with Manufacturing Managers, Sales managers, and customers
• Develop continuous improvement approaches to streamline production
• Responsible for all manufacturing
• Support new product development and stay current with innovation

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Post-secondary degree in wood products, engineering or business administration.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in the wood products manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge and commitment of safety in our industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of wood product manufacturing.
• Strong inventory, financial, and production management skills.
• Strong business acumen, financial analysis, and strategic planning skills.
• Communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills

COMPENSATION

• $120,000-140,000 per annum

• Comprehensive health, dental, and orthodontics package.

• RRSP and pension plan
