Job Description

Our client—an integrated design-build contractor ranked among Canada’s Top 10 transportation builders—seeks a Project Engineer to help deliver light-rail transit (LRT) extensions and highway-widening programs across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. You’ll bridge the gap between civil-design consultants, construction superintendents, and government stakeholders to drive schedule, quality, and compliance from early works through revenue service.✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrated master schedule (Primavera P6); track critical-path activities, change orders, and earned-value metrics.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and design-clarification logs in Autodesk BIM 360 / Procore; chair weekly coordination meetings with designersamp; field crews.
  • Support construction staging, traffic-management plans, and utility-relocation sequencing for live urban corridors.
  • Liaise with municipal engineers, Indigenous nations, and third-party rail/utility owners to secure permits and occupancy agreements.
  • Oversee quality-control testing (concrete, asphalt, ballast, trackwork) and document non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
  • Mentor EITs, enforce safety culture, and contribute to innovation workshops on carbon-reduction and digital-twin implementation.
Requirements
  • P.Eng. (BC) in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering—or eligibility with Engineersamp; Geoscientists BC.
  • 5–10 years experience delivering LRT, heavy rail, or highway projectsgt; CAD 50 M.
  • Working knowledge of P6, Procore/BIM 360, and TAC/AREMA design criteria.
  • Proven field-engineering or construction-management background on design-build or P3 contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and technical-writing skills.
Benefits
  • CAD 120 k – 145 k base + annual performance bonus.
  • Vehicle allowance, paid overtime or time-in-lieu.
  • Comprehensive health/dental, RRSP match 4 %, and professional-development stipend.
  • Hybrid site/office model with downtown Vancouver project office.
  • Pathway to Area Construction Manager or Deputy Project Manager within 2–3 years on next megaproject.
