Job Description

Our client—an international design-build group renowned for skyline-defining high-rise developments—needs a senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design of 40–70-storey commercial and mixed-use towers across Metro Vancouver. You’ll own concept-to-construction delivery, collaborate with world-class architects and BIM/VDC teams, and push mass-timber / hybrid-steel innovation on landmark projects.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural analysis, modelling, and detailing for reinforced-concrete, composite, and CLT/hybrid tower systems
  • Coordinate seamlessly with architects, façade engineers, geotechnical consultants, and construction managers to meet CSA A23.3, NBC, BCBCamp; City of Vancouver seismic/drift criteria
  • Oversee production of IFC drawings in Revit • ETABS • SAFE • RAM; enforce QA/QC and value-engineering reviews
  • Mentor intermediate engineers and EITs; chair clientamp; authority meetings; support permitting and peer-review processes
  • Conduct on-site inspections during critical pours, core climbs, and topping-off milestones
RequirementsP.Eng. (British Columbia) or immediately eligible (EGBC)8 + years structural design of high-rise commercial / mixed-use towers (≥ 30 storeys)Expert in ETABS, SAFE, RAM Concept, Revit, BIM 360; working knowledge of mass-timber and seismic-force resisting systemsDemonstrated leadership delivering at least one tower from concept through occupancyStrong communication for client presentations and municipal approvalsBenefitsSignature projects that re-shape Vancouver’s skyline and win national awardsHybrid work model (3 days downtown studio / 2 days remote)Competitive base salary (CAD 140 k – 170 k) + performance bonusEGBC dues, CPD, conference travelamp; advanced software training fully coveredRelocation stipend or temporary housing for out-of-province candidatesPathway to Associate / Discipline Lead within 3-5 years
