Job Description

McGill Wealth Management has been servicing clients for over 50 years. We now have an opportunity for an Investment Advisor to join our established team and work with existing clients, assessing their investment needs, and providing professional, customized investment-related advice, sales, and service. As an experienced Investment Advisor, you will know the importance of building client trust, educating clients on investment strategies, associated risks, and performance expectations to help them achieve their financial goals. Developing and retaining long-term client relationships and delivering an exceptional client experience is paramount to the success of all.Joining McGill Wealth Management means that you will appreciate the following:

  • An administrative support infrastructure already in place
  • Numerous existing clients to service
  • A salary of $75,000 to $100,000 depending upon experience
  • Having an investment business with Manulife Securities
  • Working with a collaborative, family–orientated team
  • An office located in Waterloo, Ontario
Role Expectations include:
  • Work collaboratively with other advisor(s) to service existing clients and grow the client base, always selecting the most appropriate investment solutions to meet their financial plans and goals
  • Identify clients that need and want you to create a customized wealth management and investment management plan to meet their individual needs
  • Initiate, develop, and foster a network of successful individuals, families, and business owners, with the goal to ultimately manage their family wealth, and seek out new clients through referrals
  • Build trusted, often multi-generational, relationships with individuals, families, business owners, charities, and foundations, based on personalized services and advice
  • Identify and make referrals to other lines of business within the firm
  • Analyze portfolios, prepare reviews, and track top funds/portfolios using appropriate tools
The successful candidate for this company will:
  • Be an IIROC licensed investment professional who complies with mandatory IDA Continuing Education Program requirements
  • Have the LLQP or be capable of obtaining it within 1 year
  • 5 or more years of industry experience
  • Have internal drive, lots of energy and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Be confident and have an engaging presence with an ability to motivate and influence
  • Have in-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to explain and executes investment concepts, portfolio construction and management, and other wealth management strategies
  • Possess ability to think critically and evaluate all the data available to help clients meet their goals
  • Always put the client first and maintain confidentiality
  • Adhere to internal risk mitigation and policies and industry rules/regulations
  • Possibly have a block of clientele to integrate
  • Have a desire to be ingrained in the business and to potentially be part of a longer-term transition/succession
