This includes PCs and Docking Stations in staff office areas, printing, visiting classrooms to troubleshoot IT and AV equipment issues. The incumbent installsamp; maintains equipment related to IT infrastructure including PC’s, printers, network switches, Wi-Fi, AV equipment, firmware and software imaging. Installation and troubleshooting of both copper and fibre optic network cabling. Travel may be necessary to other Conestoga campuses at times on short notice, as assigned duties require. Involves computers, printers, network switches, Wi-Fi AP, licensing servers, Microsoft and Apple applications Classroom AV Support involves troubleshooting projectors, audio, scalers, training end users on proper use of classroom AV equipment Maintains documentation for IT and AV systems across the designated campus Provides feedback and recommendations to ITamp; S teams for improvement of HW configurations, software imaging, network infrastructure and AV solutions Provides IT Field Operations Junior Technicians assistance and training to understand installed equipment, how it is installed and how to troubleshoot the equipment to maintain high availability for academic useStaff and Faculty IT Field SupportTroubleshoots and resolves issues with employee equipment; includes laptops, desktops, printers, phones and other office equipment, hardware and software faults Works with Facilities to relocate installed IT hardware during office moves Gathers and analyses information about a user’s issue to determine the best way to resolve their problem Creates service tickets for all issues Provide basic support and troubleshootingIT InfrastructureProvides user upgrades of computer systems and peripheralsamp; new user installations Installs and provides maintenance of PC’s and laptop Docking Stations in Staff and Faculty offices Installs network cabling per College spec; pull, label, terminate and test Installs preconfigured switch gear, access points and data rack equipment Installs and upgrades Software and Firmware image Completes general maintenance and cleaning of equipment, changing AV bulbs, toner swap out, paper deliveryProfessional CompetenciesProvides training to end users to ensure that accounts and systems are secured correctly Adheres to all security best practices for support and privileged access rightsQualifications:Two-year Diploma in Electronics Technician or Technology, Information Technology programs or IT Support Services or a related field of study is required Minimum of one-year of practical experience maintaining, installing and troubleshooting computers, network equipment and software systems Previous IT service desk experience preferred Working knowledge of desktop/laptop computers, AV devices, network equipment Working knowledge of Microsoft, Apple and Android operating systems Experience with network cable installation and working from ladders Experience working with a variety of hand and power tools Good troubleshooting skills and electro-mechanical aptitude Good communications and public relations skills Ability to work without constant supervision#LI-POST
