Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Lead Capability Owner is accountable for requirements across OTIP’s portfolio of projects. They will facilitate alignment across Capability Owners (in Business Application, Enablement, Service and other squads as they are formed) and prioritize features to ensure alignment to OTIP’s overall business vision and strategic objectives.As the Lead Capability Owner, you will support the Capability Owners in managing the squads’ backlogs and prioritizing their scope of each sprint to consider a mix of enhancement and support workloads, severity of incidents and balancing of Business needs.The Lead Capability Owner will assist the Capability Owners with setting their respective squads’ technology direction.What You’ll Do:Reporting to the Technology Enablement Vice President, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Support Capability Owners in the definition, refinement, and prioritization of the squads’ Backlog focusing on ensuring quality of work to ensure the squads are delivering on activities with highest business value.
  • Ensure customer and stakeholder value is delivered by the squads.
  • Prepare, participate, and determine scope in Program Increment (PI) Planning.
  • Second level of approval for work as completed based on “definition of done”.
  • Support the Capability Owners in ensuring that work items, in conjunction with support requests, are sufficiently defined and prioritized through continuous refinement of the backlog.
  • Make appropriate cross squad scope and content decisions based on maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of OTIP platforms and resources.
  • Identify cross squad and program risks and dependencies and ensure planning reflects both.
  • Participate in Project Portfolio Strategic Reviewamp; Budget Planning, Portfolio Reviewamp; Prioritization, Portfolio Working Group Alignment, and other Support forums, as needed.
  • Sit on various OTIP Boards (e.g., Project Portfolio Governance Board, Data Governance Board, FinOps – Cloud Operations Board), as needed.
