Job Description

Located 20 minutes south of Saskatoon on the historic Whitecap Dakota First Nation land at the height of the South Saskatchewan River valley basin. The Front of House Supervisor will manage all aspects of the restaurant, bar, outside dining areas, and in-room dining operations while delivering a consistent, quality menu offering and service delivery as per the anticipated standards of the property. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the FOH Supervisor will oversee the day to day operations of the restaurant.We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and creative individual to lead our restaurant team. This individual would be accountable for the daily operation and overall success of restaurant dining operations, exhibiting a hands-on management style while performing tasks including the management of all food and beverage service related operations and the associate team. The position requires an individual who will work to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction. The Supervisor will manage all aspects of the restaurant/bar and outside dining areas while delivering a consistent, quality menu offering and service delivery as per the anticipated standards of the property.Responsibilities:

  • Purchase beverages and supplies from vendors approved by the only by the company and using approved company resources.
  • Ensure that the front of house foodservice area is sanitized and clean in accordance with company standards and local and federal health code regulations.
  • Train and supervise all front of house service associates. Provides ongoing, specific direction to team members.
  • People Management: leads by example and demonstrates the importance of treating every team member and guest with respect.
  • Reacts immediately to issues requiring attention during the shift.
  • Complete departmental orientation for all front of house food and beverage associates.
  • Responds to guest service complaints in a timely manner, resolving problems and turning potentially negative situations into positive situations.
  • Manages all day-to-day outlet operations, ensuring the quality and standards are met while meeting the expectations of the guests / customers on a daily basis.
  • To maximize the quality and value experience offered to our guests within the operational parameters set by the hotel.
  • Ensure all the required tools, equipment, and support are available to associates in execution of their duties within the restaurant department.
  • Completes all company procedures as directed, this will include but not be limited to inventories, month end procedures etc.
  • Responsible for shift cash procedures.
  • Ensures all restaurant policies are followed during the shift (e.g. cash policies, meal and break policies, food safety policies)
  • Monitors for, responds to and reports to restaurant management about unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Completes all required shift documentation (e.g. customer log, temps etc.)
  • Escalates to management any issues and or problems.
  • To perform all other duties required by the company.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma / GED required (hospitality degree of certification preferred)
  • 3 + years supervisory experience in a restaurant of a hotel/restaurant preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current restaurant industry trends
  • Must possess restaurant service delivery and creativity
  • Strong knowledge of provincial, federal and local food and beverage sanitation and licensing regulations
  • Proven success with employee relations’ skills and ability to implement and maintain standards
  • Comfortable providing direction and supervision to culinary associates.
