POSITION SUMMARY:In support of the mission and vision of the Multicultural Council of Windsor & Essex County (MCC) the Case Manager will be responsible for the provision of ongoing support and expertise through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and overall evaluation of client needs within the MCC Resettlement Assistance Program for Newcomers to Canada as funded by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:§ Post-Secondary Diploma and/or Degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work or equivalent and a minimum three years of relevant experience§ Strong knowledge and experience with issues related to diverse populations, including immigrants and refugees§ Demonstrates knowledge of the area agencies serving immigrants, their programs and services, current immigration issues and resources available in the community§ Experience with case management and coordination including but not limited to: handling case assignments, drafting settlement plans, reviewing progress and determining closure§ Coordinating and providing care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client centric§ Demonstrated experience in establishing strong and effective partnerships with community groups, service providers and other key stakeholders to develop responses to community issues and build on community strengths and resources§ Demonstrated group facilitation and presentation skills, including workshop planning, delivery and evaluation§ Strong problem solving and decision making skills are essential§ Administrative, planning, facilitation, written and oral communication skills are essential§ Strong digital and computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must§ Must have the ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required. If method of travel is by vehicle, a current valid Driver’s License is required§ Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends§ Fluency in a second language is an asset§ Must possess a valid vulnerable sector police clearance, renewed every 3 yearsAREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:GENERAL
