Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:In support of the mission and vision of the Multicultural Council of Windsor & Essex County (MCC) the Coordinator will be responsible for the assisting the Supervisor with the coordination and day to day operation with focus on Life Skills of the MCC RAP program and the provision of case management services through a comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and overall evaluation of individual client needs.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:· Post-Secondary Diploma and/or Degree in Human Services, Education, Communication and/or relevant experience.· Strong knowledge and experience with issues related to diverse population including adults, families, children, youth, seniors, culturally diverse groups.· Considerable experience and passion for working with immigrants and refugees· Demonstrates knowledge of the area agencies serving immigrants, their programs and services, demonstrates awareness of current immigration issues and resources available in the community· Experience in case management and coordination.· Experience with staff management including hiring, training, supervising, and staff performance evaluation· Experience in project management, including planning, overseeing, documenting, budgeting, and evaluating· Strong written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated group facilitation and presentation skills, including workshop planning, delivery and evaluation· Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills· Strong digital and computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must· Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends· Must possess a valid Level 3 vulnerable sector police clearance, renewed every 3 years.· Ability to speak a second language is an assetAREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:GENERAL

  • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations of the MCC RAP Program
  • Works with the Supervisor on a regular basis in regards to program activities and challenges and to make sure that the targets and objectives of the MCC RAP Program are being met
  • Works with MCC RAP staff toward a smooth coordinating of the delivery of planned MCC RAP program activities with focus on Life Skills
  • Maintains MCC RAP Life Skills Manual up to date
  • Coordinates and provides leadership and support to staff including but not limited to: assigning of cases, monitor, assess and maintain staff schedules, assist in organizing staff meetings as well as assisting with training of new staff.
  • Works closely with CSS program to ensure effective and efficient utilization of the organization’s resources, utilizes language aids/interpreters/volunteers as necessary, links with other MCC Programs as necessary
  • Reviews and assesses needs assessment with clients, coordinates the access to program and services working with other MCC RAP and MCC staff, facilitates referrals to community agencies and participate in client care conferences to review client’s settlement and integration process
  • Enhances a relationship of trust with the client/family to maximize the client’s ability to make own informed decisions and to achieve both short term and long term goals
  • Provides information, orientation on one-to one basis or in group sessions as required.
  • Schedules and Chair regular team meetings
  • Evaluates client’s satisfaction and quality of service provided
  • Works with Supervisor in conducting, quarterly activity service monitors.
  • Collaborates with the Supervisor and staff to prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and other narrative and statistical reports as required
  • Participates in regular program, team and organization meetings as required
· Explores opportunities and strategic partnerships within the community
  • Liaise, develop and maintain rapport with community based organizations and organization serving immigrants
· Attends community meetings as needed· Keeps the Supervisor up to date with all issues and concerns, and informed of all program activities· Works with the Supervisor and the Settlement and Integration Program Manager in budget planning and monitoring
  • Attends professional development opportunities as required
