Job Description

Catalent operates a fast-paced, performance-driven, customer-focused, and collaborative business environment. The General Manager will be the senior leader in the Ontario Softgel sites and is responsible for the execution of business plan / site strategy within the region. The individual will direct and lead a cross functional team (Site Leadership Team) to meet and exceed required business objectives and regulatory standards. The individual will work within a global platform that includes interaction with global functional groups and leaders while representing the overall requirements of the Canadian business aligned to the overall needs of the company.The Role

  • Direct the execution of the Ontario Business in support of the business strategies and P&L objectives.
  • Ensure the site has appropriate capacity & capability to meet customer demand and to support the business strategies and P&L objectives.
  • Work with the functional leaders (SLT) in the development & execution of the annual revenue plan and working budget for the site.
  • Develop and implement a review and reporting process for the site to evaluate progress against business and budget objectives, and to discuss and decide future priorities and resources
  • Support business development to develop and implement an effective communication strategy to present the technologies and services of the site to customers.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the site’s implementation and effective use of Operational Excellence tools and approaches.
  • Develop recommendation(s) & business case(s) on future investments priorities to capitalize on enhancing current and future customer service opportunities.
  • Provide support to marketing / business development groups by providing project work plans, timetables, and costs, and securing high quality customer-funded projects through preparation of technical presentations and participation at customers meetings.
  • Delivery of the Catalent brand promise: “more products, better treatments, reliably supplied”
  • Drive culture of improved employee engagement / Patient First via the development and execution of key programs.
  • Ensure compliance / execution with company objectives & regulatory standards on Health, Safety and Environmental.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
The Candidate
  • Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business Management or related field with the combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 10 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment within a Health Canada/FDA-regulated work environment.
  • Minimum 10 years people leadership experience leading teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results.
