Job Description

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be tasked with leading the canning warehouse department to ensure the shift runs optimally. The successful candidate will be tasked with giving relief to the various positions and ensuring all team members are working safe on a daily basis. This position will run from approximately June-October.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coordinating and training all shifts toward the common goals
  • Achieving daily production targets while adhering to strict quality specifications
  • Examining and making recommendations on how to improve key processes
  • Know at all times what is being produced and for which consumer
  • Evaluate staffing requirements frequently during the shift and communicate with the Production Supervisor
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation as assigned without exception
  • Participate in the employee orientation program and ensure that each staff member is properly trained to perform his/her assigned job duties
  • Take ownership and responsibility for the safety of each staff member
  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback for improvement. Carry out disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspection on a weekly/daily basis on all warehouse machinery.
  • Ensure all log sheets are completed properly and on time
  • Operates a Forklift to aid in the transition of goods in and out of the warehouse 1
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Must be be mechanically inclined
  • Licensed Forklift Operator
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrate positive attitude at all times
  • Have good organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to make quick, accurate decisions. (Right Decision, Right Now)
  • Be technically trained/ trainable in all aspects of our plant equipment and systems
  • Understand productivity and efficiency indicators and their impact
  • Understand and apply quality systems. GMP’s, HAACP, and food safety and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
