This role will be responsible for but limited to completing weekly payroll, scheduling, work order entry, audits, vacation tracking, and coverage in other manufacturing areas. This role will champion new programs, projects, and process improvements within the Manufacturing Department. Improvements may come from capital projects or programs may be derived from day-to-day decisions dealing with manufacturing issues, conditions or equipment. The Manufacturing Supervisor will aid in the implementation of existing programs, be a participating partner in projects and continually contribute to the resolution of production bottlenecks and complications. This position will also be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, and regularly coordinating both maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment including facilitating LOTO. Committed to achieving excellence in quality, health & safety, the environment and product safety.Key Responsibilities- OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28) per Hiram Walker & Son’s Ltd Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety Responsibilities.

  • Present, delegate, organize and train as dictated by currently implemented programs.
  • Maintaining & continually improving Process Control Systems through programming and Operator interface improvements.
  • Involvement in daily production in order to support supervisory, operating and maintenance staff.
  • Capital project implementation, on time and within budget constraints.
  • Mentor continual improvements in the manufacturing department by developing an environment where production problems are directly addressed, and accountabilities delegated.

  • IR Department: contract issues, employee issues
  • Engineering: maintenance, support

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Project Management
  • Distillery and Fermentation Process knowledge
  • Process Control and Communication Systems (Rockwell/AB)
  • Process Measurement and Instrumentation Systems (AB/Bailey/Foxboro/Fisher/Rosemount)
  • Health & Safety Regulations
  • High competency for big picture thinking, step change innovation, ability to make things happen and customer focus
  • Solid ability for team building and influencing & partnering
  • 3-5 years equivalent experience in an automated production environment where responsibilities included daily management of production personnel, process and equipment
Education
  • Required: College Diploma or relevant work experience in a related field
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in science or Engineering
