Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the Resource and Media Coordinator will be part of a team whose focus is to develop, implement and coordinate an effective resource and media program for the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board with a focus on Ontario curriculum K – 12 and a shift to the digital age.The incumbent shall work with the Student Achievement Team to develop information technology competencies that support and enrich the Ontario curriculum and enable and empower students, to adopt information-literacy strategies that will make them independent lifelong learners and critical thinkers.In addition to fulfilling the above role and complementary to that role, duties would include:DUTIES:Employing digital media to support student achievementProviding consultation, advice and input on the leading digital media resources available to support Ontario curriculum K-12Working collaboratively with consultants to level and organize school based resourcesGathering and disseminating professional development materials and resources to supplement the Ontario curriculumProviding staff development opportunities in the use of information resources in a variety of formats and integration of information literacy skills through the curriculumDelivering training to staff and students involving digital resourcesAssisting students and staff in identifying, locating and interpreting information resourcesAssisting students in developing habits of independent reference work and skills in relation to research, to become discriminating users of informationProviding leadership in assessing, evaluating and implementing information and instructional technologiesServing as a resource on issues such as copyright and intellectual freedomSupporting with inventory and tracking of centrally assigned textbooks and resourcesOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors Degree in library and information science or undergraduate or advanced degree in related, relevant discipline is requiredPrevious work experience in a school setting would be an assetKnowledgeable about and advocate of IT as a embedded component of curriculumDemonstrated knowledge of social networking, research, searchingExcellent computer skills and proficiency with the google platformStrong interpersonal skills in order to work well with staff and students as a team memberAbility to work as part of team to develop and implement innovative conceptsAbility to travel between schools within the school dayStrong organizational skills with an ability to plan, deliver and manage school and system based plansExcellent communication skills requiredApplicants must have the required qualifications including skills, knowledge, and ability to perform all duties in a satisfactory manner._______________________________________________________________Accommodations for disabilities will be provided upon request to support participation in all aspects of the application processSept. 8, 2021/nfQuick Apply
