At the University of Manitoba, what inspires you can change everything.The opportunity: Under the general supervision of the Supplier Payment Services (SPS) Coordinator, the incumbent will assume responsibility for monitoring, analyzing and validating payments of supplier invoices. The incumbent will process invoices using the Aurora Financial Accounts Payable System (BANNER) and the Ariba Network (EPIC) System, promptly resolve any issues with suppliers and/or University units, consults the SPS Coordinator as required for unresolved issues, and ensures invoices are authorized and resolve any discrepancies. The incumbent is responsible for accurate data entry of invoices into BANNER with BANNER P.O. numbers and EPIC with EPIC P.O. numbers, is responsible for verifying invoices match Purchase Orders and reconciles differences, contacting Supplier Enablement as necessary for updates, and is also responsible for the reconciliation of all invoice variances associated with vendors assigned by SPS Coordinator.Other duties of the incumbent will include ensuring electronic files are received regularly per approved schedule, errors are corrected, and data imported into Aurora, ensures internal forms are properly authorized and promptly recorded into Banner, verifies information for payments to individuals for services, and prepares and enters journal entries for FOAP re-allocation, and ensures proper supporting documentation.The qualifications and experience we’re looking for: · Completion of a formal training program in accounting or business administration from a recognized institution is required.· A minimum of two years directly related computerized accounts payable or accounting experience required.· Must have experience with accounting for GST and PST (including self assessments).· An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Skills and Abilities: · Must have a solid understanding of accounting principles to prepare journal entries to clear balance sheet accounts or assess PST/GST using either a debit or credit memo.· Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and desktop software Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Windows).· Must have the ability to process large numbers of documents with speed, accuracy and attention to detail in order to meet strict deadlines.· Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.· Must have the ability to manage heavy workloads and meet deadlines.· Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.· Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service is required.· Knowledge of university policy and procedures would be an asset.· Knowledge of operation of general office machines (i.e. copiers, fax machines, etc.) is required.· Must be able to work in an open-office environment.· Knowledge of Aurora Finance system would be an asset.Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is requiredWhy the University of ManitobaAlong with being one of Manitoba’s top employers, we are proud to provide a collaborative and enriching work environment.
