Job Description

We are seeking an adaptive, organized, proactive, multitasking professional with a commitment to enhance the quality of services and join our dynamic organization. Roots Youth Care Inc. operates licensed group care facilities that provide secure housing and a variety of youth support services to 11 to 18-year-old at-risk young men and boys. Our purpose at Roots Youth Care is to provide youth in Manitoba with safe, comfortable living environments where they can feel at home and be themselves.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer or redirect telephone and email inquiries and requests from staff and clients.
  • Open and respond to or distribute incoming mail and faxes.
  • Prepare, format, and proofread various documents, such as minutes, reports, memos, forms, correspondence, and admission and discharge forms.
  • Ensure the completion and appropriate filing of staff and clients paperwork.
  • Ensure accuracy of documents and a comprehensive filing system for all documents and files.
  • Assists with updating and reviewing of Policy and Procedures, on an ongoing and as needed basis.
  • Help with our ADP platform by reviewing, uploading and inputing of relevant information.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings and special events, including invites, agendas, accommodations, catering, equipment and technical support, as required.
  • Develop electronic and hardcopy databases and filing systems, organize and maintain information and records, and assist with the preparation of reports.
  • Establish office policies and procedures.
  • Perform administrative support, such as copying, filing, faxing and laminating, and ordering office supplies.
  • Help prepare presentations, distribute materials and setup equipment.
  • Assist with routine human resource requests, administer the pay and benefits programs, and manage employee onboarding, training and leave schedules.
  • Supporting employee recruitment and hiring, including pre-screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews and background checks, and negotiating employment offers.
  • Handle sensitive information and material.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Human resources: 3 years (preferred)
  • Administrative: 3 years (required)
