Job Description

As the Accounting Manager for the Canada Region, based in Winnipeg, MB, you will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day and monthly accounting operations for multiple sites. You will work closely with the Regional Finance Manager, as well as the Corporate Finance team, to facilitate the month-end close process and provide guidance to the regional team throughout the month with day-to-day accounting operations at the Service Centers. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the Winnipeg, MB, Regina, SK, and Beloeil, QC Service Centers in Canada.Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Perform month-end close process, including processing journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Work daily with the Area General Manager to support business decisions and drive process improvement and profitability in the financial and operating value streams
  • Work with the Regional Finance Manager to support financial planning and analysis with the Service Center, including annual budget development
  • Provide guidance to the Service Center Finance staff for invoicing, job costing, inventory counting & analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, labor entry, payroll, and expense reporting
  • Travel approximately 10% to support Service Center staff and multiple service centers
  • Perform Ad-Hoc analysis to drive data-based decisions to grow sales and profitability
  • Monthly filing of GST/PST taxes and other regulatory filings
  • Coordination with external CPA firm for preparation of tax provision and returns
  • Management of the local treasury function including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of Accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Managerial Accounting experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and month-end close processes
  • Experience working with a mix of USD and CAD currencies
  • Experience managing the accounting function including direct reports
