Join our team of Manitobas best as we continue to build a company that supports innovation,commitment and customer service.We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Learning & Development Lead to join our Talent & LearningDepartment. Under the general guidance of the Manager, the Learning & Development Lead will work to create a learning culturethrough "high impact" learning methodology which aligns leadership and capability gaps to L&D programming. This position willevolve the Learning & Development model to become an enabler and facilitator of learning. The focus will be on building a "learningenvironment" that includes formal learning, collaboration, and other organizational activities. The L&D Lead will design a strategyand program to build new capabilities and produce performance results, oversee the development of an enterprise learning anddevelopment plan, as well as a comprehensive leadership development program. The leader is responsible for the delivery ofseveral divisional priorities and will oversee a team of learning specialists.Responsibilities:
  • Review, assess, and align current L&D programming against corporate strategic initiatives, create learner profiles and
ultimately develop an annual learning plan focused on sustainment of learning and development objectives
  • Provide mentoring, development, and leading of day-to-day direct reports
  • By working with our leadership, determine Manitoba Hydros learning philosophy
  • Strive to build a continuous learning environment, introducing new approaches and techniques to the learning experience,
evaluate the current model and approach to learning, prioritizing who and what content will drive the most value. Integrateapproaches such as formal learning, as well as informal learning using on-demand, social and embedded learning
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously enhance overall learning impact. Create partnerships with
educational institutions and external vendors to develop tailored programming and ongoing programs and relationships
  • Identify & deliver experiences and opportunities that accelerate the development of key talent and successor candidates,
support individual employee development as well as leadership and team development
  • Accountable for designing and developing a L&D program evaluation method and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the
L&D programming against objectives
  • Analyze and assess the operating model for the Learning & Development team, determining the capabilities required
  • Develop a comprehensive leadership development program which is fundamentally agile to adjust to the changing needs of
the organization and our leaders
  • Integrate with talent management programs through performance management, talent management and leverage
independent development plans
  • Evaluate effectiveness of learning and development programs and initiatives via performance measures (KPIs) against the
short and long term needs of Manitoba Hydro, identifying strengths and opportunities
  • Model leadership behaviors as an example across the organization

  • A Bachelors degree in Business/Public Administration (Human Resources), Commerce (Human Resources), Education or
Psychology from an institute of recognized standing plus a minimum of five years related experience and a minimum twoyears of supervisory experience leading collaborative teamsOR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to design, implement, and lead strategic enterprise learning & development programs as well as knowledge of
instructional design and programming for leadership
  • Provide mentoring, development, and leading of day-to-day direct reports
  • Deliver learning & development evaluation models/programs with associated metrics and reporting
  • Experience in Project management; managing multiple programs and projects at the same time
  • Proven ability to understand business needs and translate to effective and impactful learning and development programming
to support organizational transformation
  • End to end experience developing a program from ideation to requirements identification, business case development,
budgeting, content development, vendor selection, implementation and evaluation
  • In-depth knowledge of current talent, leadership, performance and learning practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and build effective business partnerships
  • Project and change management experience to handle multiple projects (small and large) on time with excellence
  • A consummate team player who brings a passionate, positive and high-energy approach to customer service and delivering
results
  • Highly effective working with and through others; possesses a truly collaborative style with an ability to effectively influence
others through a thoughtful and tactful communication style
  • Demonstrates agility and resilience in working in a fast-paced, changing environment; ability to navigate and work through
ambiguity and complexity
  • Exceptional communicator both written and verbal(facilitates training sessions both in person and virtually)
  • High integrity with the ability to deal with confidential, sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
  • Experience with KPIs and performance management objectives
  • Leadership Agility or agile project management expertise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Share Point, Teams, advanced Excel and Outlook), SharePoint
and other software
  • Excellent analytical skill as well as writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Having certification or courses in Adult education, professional designation as Chartered Professional in Human Resources
(CPHR), or being a certified Coach would be an assetSalary RangeStarting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
