Consideration will be given to Indigenous people and persons with disabilities.An eligibility list may be established and used to fill future term and regular AYD vacancies.The Department of Mental Health, Wellness and Recovery is looking for an Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Minister to join the Deputy Ministers office for a Term opportunity.Conditions of Employment:Must be legally entitled to work in CanadaQualifications:Essential:Experience providing administrative coordination and support to senior and executive level management.Experience in calendar management including: scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments, making travel arrangements and preparing necessary meeting materials.Experience maintaining document tracking systems such as Activities and Issues Management System (AIMS) or Shared Information Management System (SIMS) to manage incoming and outgoing requests and correspondence.Experience working with highly sensitive materials in a confidential and professional manner.Strong customer services skills to represent the Deputys office with courtesy and professionalism.Strong verbal communication skills to clearly and professionally communicate with internal and external stakeholders in person and over the phone.Excellent written communication skills to draft, format, edit and proof read correspondence on behalf of the Deputy Ministers office.Strong political acumen to manage stakeholders with diplomacy and tact.Strong interpersonal skills to work as an efficient and effective team member and with all levels of government.Ability to maintain organization in a high pressure environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.Strong problem solving and decision making skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Desired:Administrative Assistant certificate/diploma or post-secondary education in office management/business or equivalent secretarial experience.Experience working within a Minsters or Deputy Ministers office.Duties:Working in the Deputy Ministers Office and reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister, the Administrative Secretary to the Deputy Minister provides confidential secretarial, clerical and administrative support service to the Deputy Ministers office.
