We offer an exciting place to build your career with competitive compensation and benefit packages, company matching RRSP/DPSP program, employee home purchase program and employee discounts.Job OverviewReporting to the Production Manager, as the Assistant Manager, Construction you will assist in overseeing the daily functions of the Construction department including job production, staffing, trade and supplier relations, and customer service. You also ensure jobs are completed efficiently and within budget.Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Supervising, developing, and providing guidance to the on-site team.
  • Forecasting completion dates of jobs based on current and upcoming workloads to ensure a smooth home-building process.
  • Assisting in budget planning, setting target goals, staffing and ensuring trades and suppliers’ requirements are met.
  • Monitoring project schedules, progress, deficiencies, and customer service relative to the overall department and individuals.
  • Reviewing project status reports weekly or as required by company policy.
  • Ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with Qualico’s Safety Program.

Essential Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the residential building industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of general supervisory experience (less than 10 employees).
  • Extensive knowledge in building envelope science and building codes.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint and Excel).
Essential Requirements
  • Certificate in Construction or related field is preferred.

Work ConditionsYou primarily work on site during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards, as well as, dealing with inclement weather and dust. Travel to the regional office or other site locations is required.
