As GWLRA continues to grow, we are looking for an individual to be part of the Corporate Finance and Centralized Processing teams to assist with property related expenses accounting/allocations, indirect tax administration, and Regulation 105 withholding tax.RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing the billing and recovery of costs from properties, working with regional finance teams to adjust as required
• Analyzing financial records and preparing/filing withholding tax monthly and T4A-NR annually for the property disbursements made to non-residents
• Analyzing financial records and prepare/file Parking Tax and Speculation and Vacancy Tax declaration for BC properties
• Maintaining Procurement Business Number for applicable tenants for properties
• Preparing Commodity Tax Returns and Remittances for properties and clients
• Assistance in managing the Federal GST/HST and Provincial governments’ examination/audits
• Providing supports to Corporate Finance Tax Manager on tax inquiries as necessary from the Region and other operating business units by researching the legislation and developing a position based on current legislation, tax court cases and industry situation
• Provide supports to Corporate Finance department on process improvement initiatives
• Other related duties as required

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND STRENGTHS:

• Exceptional skills in the use of formulas and functions of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to assess and subsequently deliver on unstructured tasks
• - Commitment to excellence of processes - ability to identify opportunities and execute plans of action to improve efficiencies
• Superior communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills and customer services
• Strong detail-orientation and adaptability
• Strong research skills to understand legislations of indirect taxes
• Well developed organizational and time management skills and capable to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting required, Accounting designation preferre
• 1-2 years of experience with multi-level organizational structures will be idea
• CPA designation or CFE exam eligible
• Experience working in a real estate industry is an asset
• Exceptional MS Excel skills
• Commodity taxes and/or Yardi experience would be considered an asset
