We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team as a Billing Clerk.The billing clerk is responsible for accurate and timely invoicing on client accounts and the collection thereof. This includes responsibility for quality of underlying information such as lawyers’ time details, billing rates and tax schemes.Duties will include but are not limited to:· Prepare and distribute accurate invoices on a timely basis;· Review lawyers’ time details to ensure that all billable time has been recorded on a timely basis, and follow up as necessary;· Set up of matters including:o Conflict searches;o Selection of correct tax schemes and billing codes;o Input of correct and up to date client information.· Maintain a robust filing system to support all billings and collections;· Ensure all internal control requirements applicable to the billing process are followed and are continually improved;· Respond to all client inquiries related to billing and coordinate with the lawyers as necessary;· Work with the bookkeeper to receive all payments and ensure these are posted, and account statements remain up to date at all times;· Monitor aging of account receivables and follow ups to the point of collection; and· Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:· Demonstrated billing experience of at least one year in a professional services firm, preferably a legal practice;· Proficiency in Microsoft Office;· Maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times;· Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks;· Attention to detail;· Experience with PC Law software will be an asset.This is a full-time position, starting immediately.
