Job Description

Manufacturing ManagerCarfair Composites is a leader in fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA). Further information is available at www.carfaircomposites.com.POSITION SUMMARY:The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for planning production schedules and overseeing manufacturing activities in pursuance of business goals. Responsibilities also Include the development of policies and procedures designed to increase productivity, assure quality, and mitigate production problems. To this end, the Manufacturing Manager will improve production throughout the plant and other in-house processes with the objective of reducing overall costs and enhancing customer satisfaction.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage manufacturing supervisors, employees, line workers, and other staff; recommend optimal staffing levels and schedules.
  • Plan and direct daily production activities and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors to meet department goals and company expectations.
  • Coordinate the supervision on all shifts in each production unit.
  • Develop and maintain daily plans to achieve the production schedule per unit based on assigned manning and delivery schedule.
  • Develop and maintain communication processes for both the supervisory and hourly employees.
  • Conduct supervisory staff meetings and prepare to provide feedback to the staff on issues such as manning requirements, production outputs, safety, labor relations, and all available actual to budget numbers.
  • Identify employee-training needs and work with the Human Resource department to help in the development of training programs.
  • Work with Human Resource in all efforts to manage absenteeism with the production units.
  • Develop department annual operating plan and expense budget.
  • Responsible for the completion of employee performance reviews (EPR’s) and ensuring the department reviews are completed on time.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to Five years’ previous leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook).
  • Superior interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Superior computer and organizational skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possesses initiative to seek improvements.
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
