Job Description

MATERIALS COORDINATORCarfair Composites is a leader in fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA). Further information is available at www.carfaircomposites.com.POSITION SUMMARY:The Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities associated with the Materials department. This includes communication with internal and external customers, monitoring and reducing past due demands, reviewing daily dispatch lists and working with other departments to maintain a consistent flow of parts. The Materials Coordinator will improve the department and themselves through training and continual learning.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensure material coordination in the following key areas: responsible for communication to other plants, monitor and reduce past due demands to zero, review and push daily dispatch list.
  • Liaison between the Customer and Production to resolve priority changes.
  • Coordinate materials functions in a team environment including materials, manufacturing engineering, production and quality assurance.
  • Distribution of all materials and planning KPI’s and dashboards.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate implementation of Engineering Change Orders to released jobs.
  • Assist in the development, communication and deployment of departmental policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes.
  • Work closely with Production Supervisors to ensure daily shipping schedules are met.
  • There is a responsibility for solving problems with respect to the following: Uncontrollable items, cross training, maintaining Sub-Inventories, and to maintain interorganizational communication while following proper e-mail etiquette.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO procedures, work instructions, 5Ps and promote continuous improvement within the department.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • A certificate or diploma in Supply Chain Management would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing/operations experience. Prior experience in composites, fibreglass or similar industry would be an asset.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience with office and document management and would be preferred. Knowledge of production planning and control would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Oracle would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of 5S principles would be an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
