  • Provides sales product information where required
  • Influences sales decisions toward profitable items (Sysco brand, Sourced, etc)
  • Participates in sales trainings
  • Participates in General Sales Meeting’s (GSM’s) to support category growth aligned with corporate and regional direction
  • Works with marketing on customer facing sales promotions
  • Works with Business Resources team on customer facing opportunities
  • Uses market intelligence to create relevant sales quotations
  • Decision maker for product offerings and status
  • Rationalizes SKU’s to optimize warehouse needs
  • Executes corporate partnership strategies to drive Sysco Brand and Sourcing growth
  • Establishes market and sales rep cost in collaboration with Revenue Management
  • Supports procurement in aged/overstock/deadstock
  • Resolves vendor discrepancies and conflicts
  • Negotiates local program agreements
  • Facilitates item and vendor setups
  • Responsible for the management and execution of Vendor cost Changes
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of merchandising/category management or marketing experience.
  • Post secondary education in related field preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, VBA, SQL, Tableau an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel a requirement. Candidate must have the ability to aggregate data from various sources & formats to identify opportunity and model outcomes
  • Retail category management or business to consumer experience required. Food services experience is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of CFIA labelling & packaging requirements an asset
  • Process or project management training an asset
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with vendors, internal departments to drive sales, resolve issues and create a competitive advantage
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, decision making and presentation skills
  • High degree of integrity and accountability; handles significant amount of proprietary information and process. Trust is essential
  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition, i.e. conflicts/ambiguity and during negotiations
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required
  • Some local travel may be required (up to 10%)
