Our plans for 2022 call for new rounds of investment and technology leadership so we can serve our customers even better and drive our business forward.The Role:The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide visionary leadership and an innovation mindset to successfully lead Bison Transport’s technology roadmap. Leading both Bison Canada and Bison USA, we will align our platforms and take our tools and system to the next level. We have made significant investments in technology for many years and we have an excellent team already working on our global technology.The CIO will:

• Develop, implement and evolve our overall technology roadmap in support of current and future business and in concert with our strategic direction.
• Be an innovator and foster a culture of innovation while also promoting both effectiveness and efficiency in our constantly changing environment.
• Build on our excellent reputation of IS/IT as a service-oriented team by providing leadership to our technology staff. You will ensure that our service delivery is tightly connected to the business and done with urgency and efficiency.
• Lead the recruitment and retention of our IS/IT staff as we further grow this team and their scope of responsibility.
• Provide overall guidance to all IT/IS services such as: IT infrastructure, information security, software development, integrations, process improvement and more.
• Research, recommend, and implement technologies and best practices to maximize the capabilities that continually improve our operations.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Play an important role in our risk mitigation strategy and implement solutions as needed for the sustainability of the business.
• Provide regular reporting on the progress of technology initiatives and core responsibilities.
• Use your metrics-based thinking to provide ownership of the budget and actual spending for the IS/IT function.

The Candidate:We seek a strategic thinker with a progressive innovation mindset who is passionate about people, technology and business growth to become the next key member of the Bison Transport Executive Team. The ideal candidate is an experienced IS/IT Leader and technological expert who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and has the desire to mentor and lead with vision and care. Further qualifications include, but are not limited to:

• Executive level, results oriented leader with a track record for creating and fostering a high-performance diverse & inclusive culture, focused on engagement, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• 10+ years of experience in a senior IT leadership role developing initiatives, strategies, and an IT vision that supports company strategic objectives. Serving (or has served) as a CIO of a multi-location international company with significant revenues is preferred.
• Skilled at integrating business plans with talent plans and makes informed, thoughtful talent decisions in a timely manner. Develops strategic talent pipelines to ensure effective succession and enables growth.
• Experience in establishing executive level strategic plans for an enterprise level business.
• Excellent knowledge of project management principles and change management best practices.
• Strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills as exemplified by a win-win reputation.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities combined with the courage to innovate and the energy to execute.
• Experience supporting Merger & Acquisition projects.
