We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewThe Chief Operating Officer is accountable for leading the Winnipeg West Health Campus Executive team & working as an active member of the Regional Senior Management team providing leadership on strategic and operations issues. The COO is an active participant in the transformation of better-quality outcomes for patients and communities across the health system. The incumbent works with colleagues and others to achieve excellence in patient/ client-centered care, organizational performance, education and research.The COO is accountable to the CEO of WRHA for strategic management and leadership of the Winnipeg West Health campus and for advancing and fostering an integrated regional health system. The Winnipeg West Health Campus is a “one of a kind” geographically integrated campus which includes acute care services, primary care services and Community Health Services.Key programs and services are focused on primary and secondary acute care. The Grace Hospital is a Regional center for orthopedics and orthopedic trauma surgery, critical care, medical and surgical services, and emergency medicine and diagnostic services. The Campus also includes a Regional Hospice and Adult Medical Clinic with 14 specialty clinics. The brand new (2018) “state of the art” Emergency can accommodate up to 60 thousand visits. The physical connection to ACCESS Winnipeg West creates a perfect opportunity for a collaborative partnership between the ED, Primary Care clinic and the Walk-in clinic. The ACCESS Centre also focuses on health promotion, home care & outpatient mental health.As the senior leader of one of the three (Grace, SBH & HSC) designated acute care sites in Winnipeg, the COO works collaboratively across sectors and organizations to manage the complexity, scope and demands of a Regional acute care and community site in the midst of overall health system transformation.Through creative and innovative use of partnerships and resources, the Chief Operating Officer, Winnipeg West Health Campus demonstrates strategic leadership in providing safe, quality and cost-effective healthcare for our patients and community.
