Nelson River Construction is currently hiring a motivated Class 1A Asphalt Truck Driver for Paving Operations.The successful candidate must be willing to work out of town and at times in a camp environment.The Position:The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Tandem/Triple Axel trucks and trailers; transporting and delivering materials to the job site.Requirements:3 years’ experience in the road construction industry;Exceptional ability to reverse a loaded trailer into the Paving machine;Maintain a valid Class 1 Driver’s License, clean abstract and be insurable;Good attitude, sound judgment, ability to follow directions, hard work, and dependability are extremely important.Responsibilities:Operate the Tandem, Tri-Dump, End-Dump in a safe and appropriate manner;Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Ensure all vehicle documents and applicable permits are valid and present in vehicle;Ensure proper loading of asphalt and aggregates and verify the type and weight of materials being hauled;Ensure on-time delivery of asphalt, aggregates and other road construction materials; reducing bottlenecks in the construction process;Hose, shovel or clean out the truck box to remove debris when necessary;Ensure the area above and around the truck is clear of overhead lines and other obstructions before raising the box to dump loads;Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program and encourage all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture;Attend and actively contribute to safety meetings;Fill out all necessary paperwork accurately, neatly and completely;Use proper two-way radio etiquette;Perform miscellaneous activities throughout the day, as directed.Nelson River Construction Inc offers great growth opportunities, excellent wages, and benefits.
