We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewResponsible for the following duties on a rotational basis: Processes admission and discharges, filing and pulling health records for Ophthalmology, Interim Care, Personal Care, Urgent Care and Ambulatory Care patients. Placing all charts into folders, filing all late diagnostic reports and culling records for off-site storage. Provides day, evening, weekend and statutory holiday (shift) reception services to MHC staff, physicians and the public. Part-time positions provide sick and vacation relief.Experience

  • A minimum of one (1) years recent related office experience required and a working knowledge of current health information systems.
  • Must meet departmental standards.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology essential.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Typing speed of 60 wpm.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of the English language consistent with the demands of the position.
  • Works within the Centres core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and courteously with all Centre personnel and medical staff.
  • Must possess developed interpersonal skills in order to handle all verbal and written communication.
  • Must be interested and proficient in detailed work.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations and frequent interruptions.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with the Personal Health Information Act.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
