Job Description

As a CNC Operator, your primary responsibility is to operate vertical and horizontal milling and turning centers to produce parts using customer supplied blueprints and internally created work travelers.You have experience running CNC machines in a production environment, so you’re well-equipped to handle our production machines. You’re eager to learn, and we’re eager to train you to run any machines you haven’t worked with before. Our goal is to set you up for success, so you’re able to operate our machines with confidence.Practically speaking, you’ll also:

  • Observe machine operations to verify machine settings and detect problems
  • Adjust machines to maintain tolerance of parts
  • Use measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers)
  • Basic editing of programs
  • Make tool changes when required
  • Assemble parts when required

  • Experience working as a CNC operator in a machine shop and/or in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating CNC mills or lathes
  • Experience working with micrometers and calipers
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Good proficiency with written and spoken English (required for reading, interpreting, and giving/following English work instructions/documents)
  • High-school/secondary school education or equivalent is an asset
  • Consideration will also be given to those with experience in a production environment who have operated other types of production equipment requiring blueprint reading and use of precision measuring tools.
  • Access to reliable transportation to our shop (we are not located on a local transit route)
