Job Description

Job DescriptionReporting to the AR Manager, the Collections Clerk is responsible to ensure that the accounts receivable EPLS and support companies are followed up on and collected in accordance with established timelines and polices/procedures.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining credit history files
  • Analyzing and assessing the creditworthiness of account/client using external credit risk management tools/reports
  • Import and/or entry of applicable financial data into the Sage accounting system
  • Supporting the collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio
  • Documenting daily collections activity
  • Ensuring outstanding items are followed up on a regular basis for resolution
  • Researching account disputes and billing discrepancies
  • Performing account/payment reconciliations
  • Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clients
  • Identifying delinquent accounts requiring external collection efforts
  • Identifying bad debt or financial exposure
  • Resolve overdue accounts by preparing collection reports, examining customer payment history and contacting customers by phone and email
  • Send monthly statements to customers
  • Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments
  • Provide support to other accounting functions as directed
  • Establish good relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
  • High School diploma
  • 2 or more years performing collection duties in a high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of full cycle accounting an asset
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting system an asset
  • Good knowledge of journal entries, and bookkeeping experience.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and strong customer service focus
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving, mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly conscientious, along with an energetic “can do” spirit approach to duties.Employment Status: Permanent; Full-Time
