In addition to strong organizational, writing and editing skills, the Specialist provides innovative and creative ideas to align content across internal communication channels. This role also partners with senior Communication team members and internal business partners to support communication strategy and planning related to initiatives and projects.Note: this is a term position expected to be approximately 18 months in lengthJob Responsibilities

  • Oversee the curation, editing and publishing of internal news and information to ensure timely distribution of internal communications for employees and leaders.
  • Actively contribute to internal communication editorial planning, working with Senior Communications Specialists and internal business partners to source and suggest content ideas and reasonable project timelines, and coordinates with team members to ensure consistent messaging and timing.
  • Partner with Senior Communications Specialists to support communication projects and initiatives, and lead communications planning when needed to support various business partners and departments across the organization.
  • Support the planning and execution of employee events such as All-Employee Calls, Employee Town Hall meetings through logistical and tactical planning (liaising with external vendors), post-event surveys and reporting, and content development (e.g. speaking notes, Q&A documents, presentations, etc.).
  • Plan and coordinate content production and publishing through internal communication channels, including the sourcing and coordination of creative assets (i.e. photography, digital imagery, event/presentation templates, banners posters, handouts etc.,).
  • Develop a wide range of quality communications materials across multiple channels and audiences, including but not limited to, company announcements, employee messages, presentations, Q&A documents, and other communication needs as required.
  • Proofread and edit internal and external communications, as needed, to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Use industry best practices, metrics, data and insights to help drive communication programs and activities as well as identify how communication channels are performing and where improvements could be made.
  • Actively participate in the development of processes and guidelines to support our department in achieving our goals.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with a communications team.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills with the ability to draft timely and accurate communications.
  • Superior organizational, time management and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong service orientation.
  • Sense of urgency with ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly focused and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and be a strong team player.
  • Corporate Communications experience with ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
  • Experience in SharePoint or other Content Management Systems.
  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Confidence and competency working with senior-level staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.
