MA MAWI WI CHI ITATA CENTRE, INCINTERNAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY / COMPETITIONOctober 24, 2022Position Title: Community HelperClassification: Full-TimeLocation: McGregor Community Care SiteSalary: Subject to QualificationsBackground:As a member of the McGregor Community, the Community Helper will be responsible to provide services to children, youth and families residing primarily in the neighborhood catchment area, in partnership with local residents and other community based agencies. Working knowledge and ability to input data on a daily basis and must be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends.Qualifications:

  • Initiate, develop and implement programs and services to address specific needs of the neighborhood;
  • Experience working with community structures and community development processes;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations;
  • Must be able to advocate on behalf of the families;
  • Strong written and keyboarding skills;
  • Microsoft Word program knowledgeable;
  • Must have some knowledge on Child & Family matters;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Must be willing to be a team player;
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence;
  • Respectful in order to engage people and build helping relationships;
  • Strong motivational and leadership ability;
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be considered an asset;
  • Please provide an updated Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
