We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewReporting to the Regional Manager of Operations, the Meal Assembly Coordinator is responsible for tray assembly, presentation, portion compliance, accuracy, timeliness, temperatures and safe food handling. The incumbent manages the area to ensure that polices, procedures, health regulations and food safety standards are maintained. The incumbent is responsible for cost controls and area staff inclusive of recruitment, scheduling, payroll, work routines, safety, performance management, employee training and leadership development.Experience

  • Three to five years’ experience in food production and patient food services in a large operation preferred.
  • Three to five years managerial experience required.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor of Science (Human Nutritional Sciences) (Dietetics) Accredited Dietetic Internship.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of LEAN methodology is an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
  • Registration with the Dietitians of Canada.
Qualifications and SkillsMust have excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Knowledge of scheduling software (ESP) and business software (SAP) preferred.Adheres to all safety and health regulations and work place practices.Knowledge of Department of Health requirements and legislation for food service/production facilities.Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate processes, quality improvement initiatives and financial objectives.Physical Requirements
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and met deadlines.
  • Required to occasionally work evening, weekend or extended hours.
  • Exposure to and working in a cold environment between (3 and 10 Celsius) for periods of time.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
