For more information, please visit our website.An exciting opportunity awaitsWe currently have an opportunity for a Copywriter to join our team in the Winnipeg or Steinbach branch, with the opportunity to work remotely from time to time. The Copywriter is responsible for the writing and management of external communication to members and the public, and internal communication to employees. They will create content for branded advertising, printed collateral, digital communication, website, presentation materials, and SCU’s intranet. The Copywriter drives value to the SCU Marketing Team, as well as the business as a whole, through development of persuasive, educational, and creative content.Specific Responsibilities:

  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative, compelling, and accurate concepts and copy that is applied across various digital and print mediums.
  • Research and understand stakeholder needs and target audiences. Interview, edit, write, and proofread a variety of communication materials, such as the annual report, in-branch point-of-sale assets, sales and presentation materials, quarterly newsletters, communication to members, printed marketing collateral, video scripts, website and blog content, social media, email marketing, events, advertising, press releases and speeches, and internal communication.
  • Support sales efforts through the development of employee and member-facing content and tools.
  • Ensure all materials effectively position the benefits of SCU products and services while remaining aligned with the SCU brand.
  • Incorporate search engine optimization (SEO) best practices into copy to drive qualified leads to SCU’s website and landing pages.
  • Understand SCU’s audiences to develop content that aligns with market needs.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, English, Journalism or Communication
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Microsoft office software proficiency
  • Strong professional communications skills including planning, writing and presenting
