Reporting to the Director of Communications & Public Affairs and consistent with the Mission, Values and policies of St.Amant, the Creative Communications Associate is a critical role in ensuring the success of St.Amant business and operations.Exemplifying the mission, vision and values of St.Amant, the Creative Communications Associate works collaboratively with partnered programs while offering employees respectful customer service. This position is a journalist at heart with a nose for news. The goal of this position is to help bring all of the work of St.Amant and St.Amant Foundation to life, while also moving people to action. This team member is nimble and versatile, a good writer, photographer and videographer funneling creative work ready to publish to help the team meet theircommunications goals.St.Amant values and promotes volunteerism in the workplace. Volunteers bring optimism and enthusiasm, create positive energy, share diverse perspectives and are an integral part of the work we do. As such and in keeping with the values of our organization, the incumbent to this role is encouraged to actively support, train, mentor, collaborate and invest in volunteer initiatives.Qualifications:Educational:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Creative Communications, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or a related field required
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a communications position
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Graduate from Français or French Immersion high school preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to read and speak French is required
  • Translation is used for written documentation. However, reviewing and placing translated text on a website and conversational French are essential
  • Training in the use of Desktop Publishing, Graphic Design software (InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop, etc.)
Professional:
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong ability to take initiative and solve problems
  • A proven ability to flex the creative muscles and generate new and interesting ideas that contribute to overall goals
  • Proven skill in writing, editing and media and communication planning
  • Training in electronic office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience creating and editing videos for publication online
  • Proven skills using Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, LinkedIn and other social media

Duties and Responsibilities:Program Service and Support:Consistent with the Mission, Philosophy and Policies of St.Amant, the Creative Communications Associate develops and nurtures a culture of story-telling that will help St.Amant and St.Amant Foundation meet its strategic goals. Quality services are evident when professional communication, timeliness, accuracy, ethical awareness/sensitivity, confidentiality are consistently demonstrated as required by legislation and program/service standards.Duties include:
  • Pitches creative new ideas that will help engage our various audiences and stakeholders
  • Researches, concepts, plans, writes and edits content, including but not limited to: thought leadership pieces, news blogs, infographics, fundraising letters, internal and external newsletters
  • Plans, storyboards, writes, films and edits and other products for video and digital platforms
  • Takes photographs to accompany stories and to support event production
  • Supports programs, services, project teams and committees by crafting captivating media narratives and provides support for overall communications needs
  • Compiles competitive information, stays abreast of advertising and marketing trends, and obtains additional background and current development information through research and interviews
  • Supports the content creation and management of digital billboards, intranet and websites
  • Supports overall communication goals within St.Amant and St.Amant Foundation
