Job Description

Job Title: Cutter OperatorDepartment: FinishingShifts: Afternoons: Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pmJob Location: Duha Color Services Winnipeg (750 Bradford St. Winnipeg, MB)Reporting To: Department ManagerIn order to apply for this position and be considered, please follow the link below: https://www.ondemandassessment.com/link/index/JB-3XAYQL626u=1091086 General The Cutter Operator reports directly to the Finishing Manager in the Finishing Department and is responsible to operate and maintain a cutting machine, pre-trim and final cut all print or coating and perform other duties as required. Follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment and adhere to the company policies.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and adjust cutter machine by instructions and job requirements.
  • Set up automatic cutting programs manually into the cutter machine.
  • Operate cutter machine and ancillary equipment to cut the material into desired dimensions.
  • Evaluate and make decisions concerning the quality of the product while cutting.
  • Keep accurate press sheet information with dates and counts.
  • Monitor assigned machines during runs to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed.
  • Cutting of coated stock.
  • Cutting of printed stock.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as blade replacement, lubrication, and waxing.
  • Notify supervision of mechanical/electrical problems and complete “Service Requests” for parts/repairs that require maintenance assistance.
  • Maintains a clean working environment.
  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Job Qualification and Requirements:
  • Familiar with computers and related programs
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Manufacturing and paper jogger skills an asset
  • Self-motivated, able to work well independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude
  • Value quality
  • Must have a positive work ethic and excellent attendance
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Education/Training/Experience:
  • High School diploma or grade 12 G.E.D.
  • 1+ years of work experience in operating cutter machines is an asset
  • Knowledge of quality and safety issues
