If you have a passion for excellence, and would like to work for Corus Entertainment, we encourage you to apply.Internal Title: Digital Broadcast JournalistDivision: Global News WinnipegWork Status: Full-TimeLocation: Winnipeg, MB (Onsite)About the Role:Global News has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Broadcast Journalist – Writer/Producer (Group 4: Digital Broadcast Journalist) to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, News and Content, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our shows and our reporting staff, and collecting and presenting news on our digital, radio and television platforms.Youll be working on things like:

  • Assisting multiplatform video journalists in producing content on all platforms
  • Chase producing for multiple platforms
  • Process incoming video and audio to distribute clips quickly to multiple platforms
  • Write and produce content with multiple deadlines for radio and television newscasts, Global News Live, and online
  • Tell good, people-centered stories tailored to each platform with strong video and audio
  • Regularly communicate story ideas and information with colleagues on all platforms
  • Develop and maintain news contacts for interviews and information
  • Understand and adhere to Global News’ Journalistic Principles and Practices
  • Available to work weekdays, evenings, early mornings, and weekends
  • Embrace and demonstrate Corus’ five values
  • Perform other duties as required.
If you have the following...we want to hear from you!
  • Post-secondary education and/or experience in Journalism/Broadcasting or equivalent
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with an understanding of how to write for different platforms
  • Ability to meet strict short deadlines and work well under pressure
  • A positive attitude and a desire to collaborate in a multiplatform newsroom
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
  • A working knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
  • Passion for broadcast and online journalism and Canadian affairs. You wake up in the middle of the night with good ideas.
