Applicants are requested to self-declare at the time of application.The Manitoba Securities Commission is seeking to fill the position of Deputy Registrar - Registrations, Real Estate Division. The Manitoba Securities Commission acts in the public interest to protect Manitoba investors and to facilitate the raising of capital while maintaining fairness and integrity in the securities marketplace. Similarly, its real estate industry mandate is to regulate brokerages, brokers, salespeople and mortgage brokers to ensure adequate standards are maintained for the protection of the public.Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:Essentials:
  • Experience assessing applications against legislation and regulations to determine eligibility.
  • Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations and/or legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising staff, including assigning and overseeing work, managing performance, and motivating direct reports.
  • Strong analytical skills to make sound decisions based on excellent judgement.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy when completing paperwork.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely with various levels of internal and external personnel.
  • Excellent written communication skills to write reports and various types of correspondence.
  • Ability to take initiative while working with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using and maintaining information in computerized databases to effectively oversee the maintenance of various internal systems.
Desired:
  • Knowledge of the registration requirements of the Real Estate and Mortgage industries and its legislation and regulations.
Duties:Under the overall supervision of the Registrar, The Deputy Registrar – Registrations is responsible for;
  • Administering The Real Estate Services Act and The Mortgage Brokers Act.
  • Reviewing applications for registration, transfer, and renewal of registration.
  • Enforcing education requirements established by the Commission.
  • Reviewing compliance issues.
  • Responding to information requests regarding the enforcement of Statutes;
  • Supervising the work of staff, including assigning and overseeing work, managing performance and motivating direct reports.
