Job Description

Join a top employer and advance your career! Aplin has partnered with our client to seek a Desktop Support Technician. This is a 6 month, on site contract. It is available to candidates in Winnipeg, MB.The Desktop Support Technician is a position that requires a good working knowledge of software, hardware, and network resources. This position will perform imaging and configuration of laptops/desktops plus assist with other systems and software. The Desktop Support Technician must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal staff and external clients.Responsibilities:

  • Imaging of laptops and desktops and setup of new equipment for internal and external users
  • Ability to backup current user data before imaging, restore their data and all required applications after imaging
  • Perform miscellaneous software and hardware installs and configuration
  • Respond to the needs and requests of clients in a professional and timely manner
  • Track and monitor issues to ensure a timely resolution
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ year of experience in a desktop computing support role supporting a wide range of end-user devices - PC, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Industry certification with CompTIA A+
  • Good knowledge of Windows desktop, server, and troubleshooting operations
  • Good experience with Active Director, Windows and remote desktop
  • Good experience with computer imaging standards, including Microsoft SCCM and Autopilot
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others both internally and externally
  • Security and safety requirements include criminal record check, drug test and references
