Job Description

Golden Door Geriatric Centre is currently recruiting for the position of Part-time Dietary Aide. We strive to provide the highest quality of care to all of our residents. To that end, we depend on the skills and compassionate caring of individuals in a variety of disciplines including our Food Services Department.This unionized position (MGEU) plays a key role in providing quality meal services to residents. As the successful candidate, you are dedicated to providing the highest standards within the foodservice industry. You are a reliable team player with effective interpersonal skills. Experience in long-term care is considered an asset.Requirements:

  • Minimum grade 12 (twelve) education.
  • Meal service and cleaning duties that are resident focused, maintaining a home-like environment.
  • Physical and mental health to meet position demands. Ability to lift up to and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Have minimum 1-year experience in Health Care Facility with knowledge of therapeutic diets is considered an asset.
  • Possess valid Food Handling Certificate or obtain same within six months of hire.
  • This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult Abuse Registry Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. Only checks preformed in the past 6 months will be accepted.
  • Must have good work and attendance record in the current/past positions.
