EMBEDDED SYSTEMS TEST ENGINEER WHO WE ARE:

Join an innovative, growing, and diverse organization where your voice matters.THE POSITION:The Embedded Systems Test Engineer is a methodical, detail oriented, and creative professional that will be responsible for creating and executing design verification, validation, and manufacturing test plans for in-house developed products.The successful candidate will be engaged in analysis, design and development of various test fixtures and test strategies for our various parts, components, assemblies, and products.HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT:
  • Create product verification test plans, fixtures, setups, and procedures.
  • Calculate pass / fail criteria for production testing.
  • Execute product verification test plans and generation of reports.
  • Develop product production test procedures and fixtures.
  • Interface with production personnel and management of production testing.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining in-house internal tools, databases, etc., to manage and track all testing-related activities and data.
  • Analyze warranty, field-returned, and production dropout products to determine failure modes/mechanisms and provide feedback to Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Perform statistical analysis of failures across production runs and product variants.
  • Interface with other Engineering staff to discuss required test-related features for new products in development.
  • Integrate into the development team to assist with test-driven development and product development.
  • Interface with other Engineering staff on test fixture design schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing design and technical reviews.
  • Participate in customer quotation exercises to estimate engineering effort, schedule, and produce project budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on product design and production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Participate in vendor qualification activities.
  • Perform other Engineering activities as directed and required.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE:
  • Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Strong electronics background, troubleshooting and fault finding.
  • Demonstrate creativity in product development.
  • Show familiarity with mechanical systems (an asset).
  • Possess software skills in Python; experience in C and SQL is an asset.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiently.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exhibit an energetic, diligent work ethic with the ability to work independently.
  • Thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally as required.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
