Join an innovative, growing, and diverse organization where your voice matters.THE POSITIONThe Sales Executive for SMG will thrive on prospecting new leads and closing high-impact sales opportunities. You bring energy, confidence, and a natural ability to connect with people. With a go-getter mindset and an extroverted personality, you actively pursue business development opportunities—primarily for First Light’s Illuminated Traffic Paddle, with additional involvement in other cutting-edge illuminated products currently in development.You will operate from SMG’s head office in Winnipeg, Canada, playing a key role in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth.HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT:
  • Drive business development for First Light’s Illuminated Traffic Paddle across Canada, the USA, the UK, and Australia.
  • Travel as needed to lead sales meetings, represent the brand at tradeshows, and close deals in person.
  • Proactively schedule and execute all sales activities—including targeted emails, strategic calls, web conferences, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Confidently address and overcome technical and business objections from prospective clients.
  • Champion First Light’s proprietary illuminated technology in key global markets with the goal of establishing a high-performing network of authorized distributors.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term customer relationships by consistently delivering exceptional service and support.
  • Become a subject matter expert in our innovative product line, providing trusted insights to customers and partners.
  • Monitor and report on sales progress using web-based tools and contribute strategic insights to the team.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time updates in the company CRM daily.
  • Support additional sales initiatives and business development activities as required.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE:
  • Degree or diploma in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales or business development.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively in a wide range of customer interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional time management and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A customer-centric mindset paired with strong negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to travel as needed, including to Canada, the U.S., Europe, and other international markets.
