This position is part of the Global News team which produces local newscasts 7-days a week and provides a continuous flow of content to Globalnews.ca. This position reports to the Executive Producer and is a Group 4 position in the current collective agreement.The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Responsibilities:As an ENG Digital Technician, the following is an outline of some but not all of the primary functions and responsibilities for this position:

  • Assignments could include but are not limited to ENG camera, graphics, editing and technical producing
  • Work with photographers, producers, anchors and management in different cities to develop content on multiple platforms;
  • Assignments will include days, evenings, weekends, mornings and travel as required;
  • Responsible for safely operating and maintaining a company vehicle;
  • Set up, operate and maintain COFDM Microwave and Satellite trucks
  • Quality Control and Facs checking technical aspects of local news programs;
  • Must represent Global Television in a professional and courteous manner;
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Diploma/Degree from a recognized broadcast television program;
  • Experience with broadcast camera equipment;
  • Exemplary work ethic and punctuality;
  • Demonstrates a positive, can do attitude
  • Co-operative teamwork skills, and an ability to work independently;
  • Though understanding of Online Platforms including Social Media
  • Ability to edit on Non Linear editing platforms;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record;
  • Experience in updating online and broadcast content with a content management system.
