Job Description

Job Summary:Perform daily, monthly and annual accounting duties to obtain accurate Financial Statements. Will work closely with the general ledger.Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Financial statement preparation
  • Bank payments
  • Budgeting, cash forecasts
  • Volume bonus calculations
  • Managing inter-corporate credit card transactions
  • Record accrual entries
  • U.S. State and Canadian Provincial Registrations
  • General ledger account analysis & reconciliation
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Inter-company and intra-company reconciliations (accounts receivable and payable)
Other Duties, but not limited to:
  • Backup for other accountants
  • Other reports & projects as requested
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent
  • CPA or equivalent or pursuing CPA is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel required
  • Knowledge of AS400 / IFM an asset
  • Ability to work with numbers quickly and accurately
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to use a computerized accounting system, with skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database software and accounting software
  • Respect for confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, and get along with other people
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
