Job Description

Position Title: Financial AnalystDepartment: FinanceDivision: CorporateLocation: Winnipeg, MB, CanadaAbout AGIAGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.The OpportunityIn this role, you will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting both internally and externally. In addition to this, you will manage the reporting function of the company’s consolidation software and complete research on complex IFRS matters to provide guidance for financial statement reporting.The TeamThis role will report directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting and work in close coordination with the corporate finance team, divisional controllers, and IT.Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design and testing of financial reports using the Consolidation software to address Senior Leadership and Divisional operational/financial reporting needs. Ensure information held within the software is continuously up-to-date and address software issues.
  • Manage consolidated reporting of the Company’s long-lived assets, specifically:
o Accounting for capital assets and intangible assetso Overseeing maintenance of the capital asset software datao Preparing consolidation reporting for capital assets and intangibles including financial statement disclosureso Preparing journal entries and divisional reports
  • Research accounting policies and IFRS standards and prepare position papers
  • Assist in preparing cash flows, operating budget/forecasts, and ad hoc financial reporting throughout the year to support the Finance team and ensure Company operational objectives are met
  • Assist with the quarterly and annual external reporting for AGI, including but not limited to the following activities:
o month-end, quarter-end and year-end closeo Assist in drafting financial statement and note disclosures for public reportingo Assist in the preparation of the Company’s annual report, Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and other regulatory reporting as requiredo Assist with preparing Audit Committee presentations
  • Prepare audit working papers and work with external auditors
  • Work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance and efficiencies in financial reporting and operations
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Attained or in process of attaining professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • 2 + years of work experience in accounting, preference may be given to those with manufacturing or cost accounting experience
  • ERP experience in Oracle and Longview Consolidation Tool is an asset
  • Strong ability to improve processes and develop a robust framework to enable fast growth
  • Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Problem solver who excels in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a team player
  • Ability to plan, assign and evaluate job tasks
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Experience in the administration and maintenance of accounting systems and processes
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships both internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound recommendations pertaining to organization effectiveness
  • Communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Analytical thinking and ability to pay attention to detail
