Aspire Bakeries champions the values of Integrity, Ownership, Customer Focus, Creativity and Care to help us deliver on People Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Collaboration.Position PurposeThe Technician I, FSQA-Bakery is a contributing member of the team-oriented FSQA process, including responsibility for protecting the food by conducting food safety and quality sampling, testing and completing required documentation to meet AIMS requirements.Key Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesThe Technician 1, FSQA-Bakery conducts food safety and quality assurance procedures to ensure the company is in compliance with expectations for food safety and quality.You will perform the following but not limited to:Demostrate Companies Core Values, acting with intergrity, ownership, proactively, generating new ideas as well as promoting a safe work environment for both our team members and our Food.Understand the Food Safety and Quality Objuectes as well as the Global Food Safety and Quality Policies.Ensure and verify all applicatble Company and Customers expecations are met.Evaluate and ensure our food meets Company and Customer standards and specifications.Identify and report any and all non-conformances regarding raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods.Place product on physical hold for further evaluation when a concern is identified.Effectively communicate any human, food or equipment safety concerns immediatly to Supervisor on shift, FSQA Manager, etc.Support the Hazard Analysis & Risk-Based Preventive Controls Food Safety Team in the participation of an effective Food Safety plan focused on the elimination of biological, chemical, physical and economically motivated hazards from our foodsConduct sampling, testing, and documentation including procedues and records.Implement and work within the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) regulations.Participate in Pre-operational inspections with a cross-functional team. Physical bakery inspections, such as GMP and Hygiene, Food Safety, Foreign material, Glass and Hard Plastics, etc.Complete sensory, physical, and packaging evaluations on finished food and report the results to bakery management.Verify finished food case labels are accurate.Verification of the Manufacturing and visual aids.Verification of lot traceability, how packaging and raw ingredients are coded, coding of finished foods, and recipe verification against the manufacturing specification.Understanding and verification of Cross traffic (Raw to RTE) is controlled. Designated walkways are being used as control measures as outlined in Access and Movement of Personnel. Traffic plans and zoning maps are followed by all employees, management, visitors, and contractors.Support Onboarding training of all new hires on FSQA policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned or requiredSkills, Experience & QualificationsOne to Two years relative expereince, perferred in a multi food manufacturing environmentPost-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology or Food Chemistry or equivalent work experience.Strong verbal and written communcation skills.Able to work within a very diverse organizationEnjoy working with minimual supervison as well as within a team environment.Ability to work rotating shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidaysStrong Microsoft Windows expereince, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPointMust enjoy working in a very fast paced environment with multiple priorities taking place at once.Knowledge of SAP considered an asset.We thank each applicant for taking the time and effort to submit your resume, however, only candidates to be interviewed will be contacted.
