Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, organised and passionate General Manager at One Sixteen - a collaborative space that is home to two brands under one roof: The Good Neighbour Taproom and The Two Hands Dining Room.About Us: One Sixteen is a unique concept in Winnipeg’s diverse West Broadway neighbourhood. Located at 116 Sherbrook Street, One Sixteen is a gathering space driven by passionate people with values deeply rooted in collaboration, community, and innovation. One Sixteen’s goal is to bring Winnipeg a unique and elevated food and beverage experience in a relaxed, come one-come all atmosphere. Each space has its own menu and vision - learn more below: The Good Neighbour Taproom is a space for people to enjoy inspired beers and honest connections. It is a collaborative, inclusive, and community-driven space steered by Morgan Wielgosz and Amber Sarraillon, the Co-Founders of Good Neighbour Brewing Company. - one of Winnipeg’s newest craft breweries. From the beginning, Good Neighbour Brewing Co. dreamt of having a taproom with an elevated food program - which they have found through working collaboratively with the chefs from Two Hands - who have curated the food menu for the taproom space. The food served in the taproom is strategically designed to pair and compliment the beer providing a unique beer meets food experience for guests. The taproom showcases the full range and diverse portfolio of Good Neighbour’s beers from Milkshake Kettle Sours to Hazy IPAs to traditional side pours of Czech-style Premium Pale Lager, along with a few guest taps - a local Cider and a rotating “friends of Good Neighbour” local brewery tap . The Good Neighbour’s will open their production brewery right next door (110 Sherbook St.) in the fall of 2022.The Two Hands Dining Room is a concept that is designed to showcase the art of creative collaboration in the kitchen, attempting to dispel the myth of “too many cooks spoil the broth.” The vision for the Two Hands Dining Room is to create an elevated dining experience for guests through offering a constantly changing menu, determined to incorporate the freshest, local produce, while pulling inspiration from a variety of cultures and techniques. The Two Hands Dining Room intentionally serves in a family-style format, as we believe that great food is meant to be shared. The Chefs - The kitchen is currently led by Chefs Michael Robins and Keegan Misanchuk - formerly of Sous Sol and Segovia, respectively - who have returned home to Winnipeg from the UK with a renewed passion for their craft. Reflecting on their time spent in some of London’s best restaurants, they hope to bring the atmosphere of East London to Winnipeg’s West End. The Two Hands Dining Room is a dynamic, drink-forward laboratory for pairing, collaborating with in-house sommelier Rob Stansel and Good Neighbour Brewmaster Morgan Wielgosz. The wine program is designed to complement the chefs’ approach to cuisine. Authenticity, freshness and flavour drive the wine list. We think organically-grown fruit is best, and that winegrowers who respect their soil and environment make great wines. Anchored in European selections, in-house sommelier Rob Stansel aspires to showcase the most interesting wines that hit our market, from natty fizz to textured orange to fresh reds to classic fortifieds.General Manager Responsibilities:
