At the University of Manitoba, what inspires you can change everything.The opportunity: This position will provide administrative and secretarial support for the Graduate Programs (MN, NP, PhD) and to the Associate Dean, Director, Nurse Practitioner Program assuming responsibility for a wide range of independent directed functions.The qualifications and experience we’re looking for: - Completion of a Community College or equivalent program of studies in directly related applied office skills required.- Minimum 3 years directly related experience required.- Must have experience in organizing meetings and minute taking.- Must have experience dealing with students and the public.- Experience with University undergraduate and graduate policy and procedures preferred.- Working experience with Aurora Student/INB required.- Previous experience manipulating large databases and running queries and/or reports preferred.- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.- Strong microcomputer skills using Microsoft suite of programs, with demonstrated proficiency using Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint, required.- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and abilities.- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, required.- Must have highly developed organizational and multitasking abilities.- Must have a mature attitude with attention to detail and ability to complete assignments in the midst of distractions.- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.- Must have the ability to work with all levels of staff, students and the public in a variety of situations, displaying tact and courtesy.- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.- Must be able to cope effectively with shifting priorities.- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.Why the University of ManitobaAlong with being one of Manitoba’s top employers, we are proud to provide a collaborative and enriching work environment.
